Are there different types of Manno-oligosaccharides (MOS)?
Manno-oligosaccharides can be produced from mannan-rich raw materials, including yeast cell walls, coffee residues, and residues from coconut processing (copra meal). Products from yeast cell walls tend to be insoluble and low in purity (<30% mannan) and are bound to other components in the yeast cell walls, such as proteins and glucans. Copra meal is a good source for high purity, soluble oligosaccharides derived from mannan.
